I've been to a few of these ... and this is the reward ... seeing that smile.

Isn't that what get's all of us parents? Seeing our children beam?

So how were the NAIA Championships? They were good. The girls have a lot to be proud of, even if they didn't do all they hoped they would.

Campbellsville's swim program is very new. Two years ago they didn't even qualify for Nationals. Last year they only had one team make the relays.

This year they swam all the relays and consistently ended up 17th! (You had to finish in the top 16 to compete for the finals). So they were bummed when they finished one second or two seconds out of the finals.

But you know what? That's progress ... step by step improving.

Too often we want the BIG jumps forward; and we fail to see the progress over time. I'm guessing next year, they'll make the finals ... and maybe more.

And heck, it's not about ribbons, championships, or record times ... it's all about that smile.

Funny to think that God calls us His children. You think He likes to see His kids smile?
